Let me tell you a story…
Every good communications plan is built around storytelling. Telling a story is a necessary tool that leads to more than just a one-time transaction. Ultimately, it helps create a relationship that keeps a person coming back to a product or service again and again.
It is my pleasure to have helped many organizations tell their story, through newsletters, press releases, media interviews, events, social media, and more. It’s a task that is enjoyable but seldom easy, given the sheer volume of content competing for every minute for our attention.
Below are samples of some of the stories I helped to tell. (Click on the title to open a .pdf file.) To download a brief portfolio of samples, click here.
- 2019 Allegheny County Department of Human Services Highlights Report
Each Department was responsible for providing its own highlights which were compiled into the County Manager’s Annual Report. I provided the copy (gathering information from program and data experts throughout the agency) and worked with our design team to format the DHS submission. - DHS News Sample Articles
Two articles from the weekly internal DHS Newsletter (to a distribution of more than 1200 staff) of which I was editing manager. - Press Release: Emergency Rental and Utility Assistance Applications Accepted Beginning March 15
A typical press release example, this one for a rent and utility assistance program. - DUQ 60th Anniversary Flyer
To promote the 60th Anniversary of WDUQ 90.5 FM, I created this flyer for use at tabling events and inclusion in mailings.
